Mother Rock White Blend 2022 750ml

The Mother Rock White Blend 2022 is a dynamic and popular natural wine from the Swartland region of South Africa, created by winemaker Johan “Stompie” Meyer.

Stompie’s ever-changing Swartland blend, comprising 30% Roussanne, 20% Semillon, 20% Viognier, 15% Chenin Blanc, and 15% Grenache Blanc, incorporates varied skin contact and a touch of flor. This vintage appears more approachable and less exotic than previous ones, a point echoed by Christian Eedes of Winemag, who detected “subtle aromatics of pear, peach, citrus, flowers and herbs plus a hint of reduction” and a “particularly lean and fresh” palate.

Fermented with native yeast, it includes a portion of skin contact and uses a combination of concrete, old French oak, and stainless steel for fermentation and maturation (up to 18 months).
