Discover the Kottabos Chenin Blanc 2024, a South African white wine produced by Reenen Borman of Boschkloof Wines as part of his “Kottabos” sub-label. Hailing from the Polkadraai region of Stellenbosch, we blended two carefully selected samples to create this Chenin Blanc. We fermented 60% of the wine for six days, then matured it for 11 months in seasoned French oak barrels. The winemaking approach for this Chenin Blanc includes an extended period of skin contact, a deliberate technique to showcase its appealing textural qualities, harmonizing with its vibrant freshness.
The wine balances freshness with texture. Tasting notes often mention stone fruit (peach/apricot), citrus zest, ginger, subtle spice, and a mineral-driven, savory finish with a slight grip. Kottabos Chenin Blanc 2024 has also received a 93-point score from Christian Eedes.
