Discover City On A Hill Muscat d’Alexandrie, locally known as Hanepoot, has a long history in the Swartland, traditionally used for fortified wines. This bottling, however, reveals its wonderfully drinkable dry side. Crafted from dryland bush vines planted in the 1980s, it offers a unique expression of this classic grape.
To craft this unique wine, the juice sees extended skin contact for approximately seven days, a process that builds texture and aromatic complexity. Consequently, City On A Hill Muscat d’Alexandrie exhibits pronounced aromatics of honeysuckle, lychee, and orange blossoms. Leading into a palate where honeyed tropical fruit meets zesty acidity. Furthermore, a signature saline minerality gives the wine structure and a long, savory finish. At around 10.5% ABV, this vintage offers delightful clarity and lightness, perfectly showcasing the adventurous side of Swartland terroir.
