It is created by the famous Midleton Distillery in Cork, Ireland. The whiskey uses a mash bill of both malted and unmalted barley. Crucially, Yellow Spot is matured in three distinct cask types. It ages in American Bourbon barrels, Spanish Sherry butts, and Portuguese Malaga casks.
