Half of the spirit matured for seven years in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. The remaining half is lightly peated spirit. This was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. Only 5,100 bottles were produced in total. This combination delivers rich, sweet flavour and exceptional depth.
The nose is complex and inviting. Treacle and strong coffee notes lead the way. Subtle tones of cherry and dried spice follow. The palate features nuts like hazelnut and almond. Cloves and a beautiful layer of soft peat smoke emerge. Treacle sweetness dominates the finish. The delicate peat smoke lingers gently. The Wolfburn Batch No 458 is bottled at 46% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and boasts natural colour.
