Vondeling uses grapes grown on temperate, southwest-facing slopes. The low-yielding granite soils concentrate the fruit’s flavour. Winemakers allow natural fermentation to occur after a cold soak. The wine matures for 18 months in 300L French or Hungarian oak barrels. This extended barrel aging softens the tannins and builds complex, savoury notes. The cellar releases the wine after further bottle aging.

This wine displays a deep, dark ruby red colour. The nose offers beautiful aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry, cinnamon, and subtle vanilla. On the palate, you will find a broad, silky texture. Abundant flavours of dark fruit, smoky cigar box, and roasted almond emerge. Fine, textured tannins provide structure and a long, mellow finish.
