Secure your allocation of The Sadie Family Twiswind 2025, a fascinating and future-forward white blend from the historic Paardeberg mountain. Visionary winemaker Eben Sadie specifically designed this resilient single vineyard to thrive amid changing climates. The maiden 2024 vintage achieved immediate global fame, earning an exceptional 96-point rating from critic Tim Atkin MW and a stellar 95-point score from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. This 2025 vintage marks only the second bottling of this iconic cuvée, offering wine collectors a rare opportunity to own a piece of Swartland history.

The 2025 Vintage Profile

The name Twiswind means “to argue with the wind,” a nod to the blustery south-western slopes of the Paardeberg. Coarse, weathered granite soils drain exceptionally well over a rocky subsoil stratum to encourage early fruit ripening. This unique microclimate preserves ample natural acidity while keeping alcohol levels beautifully low at full ripeness. This brilliant 2025 version displays a wonderful, seamless balance throughout its structure. The wine masterfully co-ferments 12 unique varieties into a profound, singular expression of a remarkable site.

Tasting Notes

  • Aroma: A classic signature of crisp green-apple fruit character spills over into expanded, luscious tropical aromas.

  • Palate: The palate offers a beautiful lemony, creamy, and gently toasty texture. Firm white-wine tannins wrap tightly around the core to pull the entire experience perfectly into place.

Artisanal Vinification & Ageing

The estate harvests the young vineyard in two separate, meticulous stages to capture optimal freshness and acidity. In the cellar, the team blends and co-ferments the components early to ensure full integration. After pressing the grapes gently, they transfer the juice into concrete tanks and old wooden vats. These neutral vessels prevent the imparting of unwanted oak flavors. The age and saturation of the wooden staves promote a very slow, graceful interaction with oxygen. The wine ages undisturbed on its lees for 11 months before moving to a final tank to settle. The cellar crew bottles this brilliant white field blend directly from the fine lees.

Collector’s Note: While a 12-variety blend might sound disjointed on paper, the 2025 Twiswind presents a breathtakingly cohesive merger. It will reward serious cellaring over the next 5 to 15 years.
