The whisky matures entirely in first-fill European Oak Oloroso Sherry butts. These massive casks impart deep colour and rich complexity. The sherry influence is immediate and profound. The nose delivers powerful aromas. You notice dark fruits, including figs and dates. Rich Christmas pudding and warm spices follow.
The palate is luxuriously rich and sweet. It features notes of dark chocolate and treacle. A hint of candied ginger adds warmth. Nutty flavours and dried fruit define the long finish. The mouthfeel is velvety and satisfying. Macaloney’s Searaidh Braiche is a deep and complex dram. It is bottled at 46% ABV. The whisky uses natural colour. It is also non-chill filtered.
