The whisky matures in select STR (Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred) Portuguese red wine barriques. This innovative maturation, guided by the late Dr. Jim Swan, imparts unique complexity. The nose is highly aromatic. You find notes of tropical fruits, including apricot and papaya. Honey, pears, and sherried fruitcake add richness.
The palate is full-bodied and exceptionally creamy. It delivers a symphony of fruit and floral notes. Taste nectarine, candied orange, roses, and wood spices. Red wine and blackcurrant tones deepen the profile. It is bottled at a smooth 46% ABV. This whisky uses natural colour. It is also non-chill filtered.
