Glen Scotia Double Cask Whisky 750ml

The Glen Scotia Double Cask Whisky is a celebrated single malt Scotch. This 750ml bottle is produced in Campbeltown, the historic ‘whisky capital’ of Scotland. This expression perfectly captures the signature Campbeltown style. The whisky is first matured in the finest first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. Glen Scotia Double Cask Whisky then receives a final finishing period of up to 12 months in rich Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks. This double maturation creates a superb balance of sweet and spicy character. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered. This preserves its complex oils and true flavor. Glen Scotia is one of only three remaining Campbeltown distilleries.

Expect a rich gold to amber color. The nose is sweet and appealing, offering notes of crème caramel and caramelized fruit. Subtle hints of sea spray, green apple, and toffee are also detected. The palate is rich, oily, and full-bodied. Distinct maritime salinity and warm baking spices lead the flavor profile. Dominant notes of sweet fudge, dark sugar, and cinnamon emerge in the mid-palate. The finish is long, warming, and dry. Lingering spice, ginger, and a final gentle peat smoke provide complexity.
