Experience the artistic brilliance of Gabrielskloof Elodie Chenin Blanc. Part of the estate’s highly acclaimed Landscape Series, this premium 750ml bottling celebrates South Africa’s old-vine heritage. Winemaker Peter-Allan Finlayson sources the fruit from historic, dryland Swartland bushvine blocks planted in the 1980s. The unique bottle label features natural paints made from ground vineyard rocks. This ensures that the beautiful landscape shapes both the inside and outside of this exceptional wine.

The nose opens with an expressive bouquet of orchard fruits, dried pineapple, and warm thatch aromatics. Gentle layers of white peach, citrus peel, and a distinct line of wild honey follow closely. On the palate, this old-vine Chenin Blanc offers a dense core filled with flavors of apricot, lemon rind, and a savory oatmeal-like roundness. A firm, crunchy apple-skin texture provides fantastic natural tension, leading into a long finish with an underlying stony grip. Serve this sophisticated white wine slightly chilled at around 11°C to 14°C to fully appreciate its layered texture. It matches beautifully with rich seafood dishes like seared scallops, buttered prawns, or traditional West Coast snoek. The wine’s structural depth and crunchy acidity also pair excellently with aromatic mild curries, fresh sushi, or artisanal soft cheeses.
