The Damascene Stellenbosch Syrah 2024 is remarkably polished and concentrated. It balances black fruit purity with dynamic spice. The nose is complex, showing violets, rose, and fynbos. It has red and black berries, orange zest, earth, and pepper notes. A core of mulberry and blackberry fruit is clearly anchored. The palate is savoury and tightly framed. Clear-cut, grippy tannins shape red cherry and blackberry fruit. Clove and crushed black pepper add lift. The finish is persistent, deeply savoury, and taut with fruit.
