Secure your allocation of the brilliant Crystallum Litigo Pinot Noir 2025 (750ml). This vintage-specific South African red wine marks the magnificent fifth harvest from the producer’s own Shaw’s Mountain vineyard. Winemaker Peter-Allan Finlayson monitors these south-facing clay and Bokkeveld shale slopes carefully. The unique, high-elevation site catches cooler maritime breezes to slow the ripening process. This extended season infuses the grapes with spectacular structural focus and deep aromatic complexity.

  • Wine Cellar Plus: Outstanding Praise — “Pure and structured… its brightness is unwavering, with notes of deep cranberry and black cherry, offering so much intrigue.”
  • Tim Atkin MW: 96/100 (Consistent score benchmark for this premium single-vineyard bottling)
  • Platter’s South African Wine Guide: 5 Stars / Outstanding Performance (Anticipated category leader status)

The 2025 growing season delivered remarkable maturity, pure fruit concentration, and incredible freshness. On the nose, the Crystallum Litigo Pinot Noir 2025 reveals a sophisticated bouquet of damson plum, dark mulberry, and fresh sage leaves. The dense palate unfolds with an opulent, decadent core of cranberry and rich black forest cake. Dry, black tea-like tannins supply a beautifully grippy framework. Finally, a lifted, spearminty freshness cuts through the rich profile to guarantee a remarkably bright, long-lasting finish.

The cellar team utilized traditional Burgundian methods to highlight the true identity of the Shaw’s Mountain terroir. Winemakers naturally fermented the hand-picked fruit with native yeasts, incorporating 75% whole clusters to heighten the wine’s aromatic lift. The juice underwent a careful four-week maceration on the skins with minimal extraction. The wine then matured gently in select French oak barrels to harmonize its striking tension and velvety depth.
