Taste the bold, dry character of Allesverloren Tinta Barocca 2023. This wine is a benchmark expression of the Swartland’s oldest estate. The Malan family has continuously produced wine here since 1872. Tinta Barocca thrives in the region’s rocky shale and sandstone soils. The mild 2023 vintage provided ideal ripening conditions.

This red shows a deep ruby-red colour. The nose offers a rich bouquet of red berries and chocolate. Hints of vanilla and oak spice add complexity. On the palate, juicy berry flavours dominate. Subtle oak spice is tightly intertwined with the fruit. The medium- to full-bodied structure of Allesverloren Tinta Barocca 2023 is elegant and refined. Well-structured tannins provide excellent depth and a long, lingering finish. The traditional Old-World style makes this wine highly age-worthy. Enjoy this expressive wine with game, roasted meats, or rich winter stews.
The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness. Fermentation on the skins lasted five to seven days. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation in tank. It matured for eight months in new, second, and third-fill French oak barrels. Minimal intervention ensures the unique terroir shines through.
