Secure a bottle of the highly-rated AA Badenhorst Ringmuur Cinsault 2023. This is a single-vineyard wine from a tiny, 0.6 hectare block. The old Cinsault bushvines were planted in 1969 on granite soils. Winemaker Adi Badenhorst used carbonic maceration. This method preserves the bright, pure fruit character. The wine was raised entirely in a concrete vat.
The nose is charming, perfumed, and floral. You will find notes of wild strawberry and rose petals. Red cherry, fynbos, and earth add complexity. The palate is light-bodied with a smooth texture. Pure fruit and fine, refined tannins carry the flavor.
Christian Eedes of Winemag.co.za awarded the AA Badenhorst Ringmuur Cinsault 2023 an excellent 94/100 score. Tim Atkin MW also rated the 2023 vintage highly, with 96/100 points.
