The Wanderer’s Heart takes its name from a series of children’s stories they commissioned in 2016, drawing inspiration from the wild, Mediterranean landscape of the Cape. This wine is a natural expression of the region’s climate, soils, and vibrant culture. They’ve brought together a handful of grape varieties that thrive in this environment, each contributing its unique character from predominantly shale soils. Their goal is a harmonious, layered, and generous wine.
The 2023 Wanderer’s Heart is their signature red blend, a true reflection of the diverse influences that shape these wines. It’s a focused wine, with an enticing nose of rosewater, rhubarb coulis, and rich Agen prunes. The tannins are fine-grained and beautifully integrated into a rich palate of black olive, dark red fruits, and toasted wood spice.
