The 2024 vintage is described as supremely elegant and fragrant. It displays a beautiful, bright ruby-red colour. The nose is immediately captivating with aromas of sliced strawberries and pomegranate. Subtle notes of rose hips and orange peel add complexity. Sour cherries and wet stone minerality are also present.
The palate is silky, fresh, and remarkably pure. It has a medium body and seamless, very fine tannins. These tannins evolve into a sweet, slightly grainy texture. The long finish is both persistent and salty. The Sadie Soldaat 2024 sees no new oak. It is fermented and aged for 12 months in concrete vats. This preserves its incredible transparency and purity of fruit. This is a brilliant expression of high-altitude Cape Grenache.
