Ruinart “R” de Ruinart Brut is a harmonious Champagne, skillfully blended from 40–45% Pinot Noir, 10–15% Meunier, and 40% fresh Chardonnay. It draws its complexity from 40–50 different crus across the renowned terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims.
Hand-harvested grapes contribute to a blend that includes 20–30% reserve wines from various vintages. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation. The Champagne then ages in cellars for 2–3 years, with a dosage of 7 g/L.
Colour: It shimmers with brilliant chestnut, yellow, and gold hues.
Nose: Initial aromas reveal delicate notes of Reinette apples and apricots, alongside fresh almonds and hazelnuts. Hints of elderflower and coriander seed add intriguing complexity, giving way to deeper aromas of brioche and biscuit.
Palate: Sweet notes of golden fruit, plum tarts, and ripe stone fruits unfold on the palate. Its harmonious, persistent roundness beautifully envelops the mouth, with the finish revealing the distinctive freshness of Chardonnay.
