Lourens Family Lindi Carien 2023 750ml

This unique white blend honors Franco’s wife and showcases grapes from esteemed South African regions:
- Chenin Blanc (62%): Sourced from both Swartland (41 years old) and Piekenierskloof (62 years old) vineyards, these mature vines contribute depth and complexity.
- Verdelho (30%): Hailing from Stellenbosch, this aromatic grape adds vibrancy and a touch of floral character.
- Grenache Blanc (8%): Skin contact for 5 days in Piekenierskloof adds a hint of texture and subtle phenolic character.
Winemaking:
- Gentle whole-cluster pressing preserves delicate flavors.
- No added yeast or enzymes allows for a natural fermentation process.
- The wine rests for 10 months in older, neutral barrels of 300 and 500 liters, allowing the fruit to shine.
Critical Acclaim:
- Christian Eedes (Winemag.co.za): 95 points – Complex aromas of stone fruit, citrus, ginger, and a touch of yeastiness. The palate is lively with crisp acidity, leading to a dry and slightly salty finish.
- Tim Atkin MW: 95 points – Elegant and stylish with notes of fynbos (indigenous South African shrubland), petrichor (earthy scent after rain), and stone fruits. A delightful and refreshing white blend. Enjoy between 2024 and 2030.
