Le Chant Rouge 2019 750ml

This signature blend from Polkadraai is primarily Merlot, with classic Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Shiraz and Sangiovese. The result is a wine of intriguing character, vibrant on the palate, and exuding finesse. The nose offers fresh floral notes, subtle red berry undertones, and evolving spice aromas as the wine opens up.

Viticulture: The vineyards are gently rolling hills situated between False Bay and Le Chant, benefiting from cooling sea breezes. This ideal location allows for organic farming practices.

Blend: 38% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Shiraz, 2% Sangiovese

Maturation: Hand-harvested grapes are gently transferred to the cellar, where they undergo fermentation and maceration. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 13 months, followed by further maturation in cement tanks. After approximately 24 months, the final blend is bottled and aged for an additional 6 months.
